I was getting bored, sitting idle for nearly a month, waiting for a joining date from TATA Motors and struggling with the muscle pain. So finally decided to visit Koregaon park, Pune, yesterday. It is the same area where there was a terrorist attack on 13 February, 2010 at a popular joint called German Bakery.
Despite being a Sunday it appeared just an another road of Pune with some restaurants but lots of police bunkers on the sides. We visited "Mocha" a cafe joint but it was full. While taking a stroll in the area I asked my friend, "Why is this area so popular ?", "I see nothing nothing different here". My friend told me that the things this area was popular for have disappeared mainly due to the attack. He told me that earlier you could see a huge crowd of couples and even a lot of foreigners(due to the Osho ashram) sitting on the footpath or moving down the road. But now that has disappeared. On the funny side, the by lane besides the bakery, he told, was good area for colleges girls offering exotic services which also is empty now.
I felt sad that I missed the happening of the place and pray the place regains its crowd soon.
