At last the Government has agreed to provide the food grains, which otherwise will be rotten in the FCI godowns due to the poor mismanagement, to the poor but that at the BPL price.This comes only after repeated harsh beatings of the Supreme court.This shows to what extent the current ruling party i.e. Indian National Congress Govt. can be shameless.
First, a lot food grains get rotten year after year due to the improper management in the FCI godowns. At the same time the food prices continue to increase digging bigger hole in the middle class savings and leaving the poor starved.All this only comes to light only the when the Supreme Court intervenes and orders them to release the unused food for the poor instead to sending them to garbages later.
The current agriculture minister didn't pay a heck and says he will see as it is a mere suggestion.But after a repeated harsh reminder he agrees but not for free.The question arises is the government justified to charge a price from the poorest citizen for a commodity is basic for survival and which other wise will become unuseful due to the misdeeds of its incompetent servants.When the ones in power are getting 300% increment in salary for fighting in the parliament.When its salaries of servants are already revised.When it can give 25$ million in aid to a neighbor who supported in killings of its citizens.We all know about the quality of food available at the govt. ration shops. Can a starving citizen not even feed on the debris for free ?
