Ah! The shameless Indian Goverment aka Indian National Congress

At last the Government has agreed to provide the food grains, which otherwise will be rotten in the FCI godowns due to the poor mismanagement, to the poor but that at the BPL price. This comes only after repeated harsh beatings of the Supreme court. This shows to what extent the current ruling party i.e. Indian National Congress Govt. can be shameless.

First, a lot food grains get rotten year after year due to the improper management in the FCI godowns. At the same time the food prices continue to increase digging bigger hole in the middle class savings and leaving the poor starved. All this only comes to light only the when the Supreme Court intervenes and orders them to release the unused food for the poor instead to sending them to garbages later.

The current agriculture minister didn't pay a heck and says he will see as it is a mere suggestion. But after a repeated harsh reminder he agrees but not for free. The question arises is the government justified to charge a price from the poorest citizen for a commodity is basic for survival and which other wise will become unuseful due to the misdeeds of its incompetent servants. When the ones in power are getting 300% increment in salary for fighting in the parliament. When its salaries of servants are already revised. When it can give 25$ million in aid to a neighbor who supported in killings of its citizens. We all know about the quality of food available at the govt. ration shops. Can a starving citizen not even feed on the debris for free ?

Aftermath of a Bomb Blast

After a long absence, I am back and will try to be regular now.

I was getting bored, sitting idle for nearly a month, waiting for a joining date from TATA Motors and struggling with the muscle pain. So finally decided to visit Koregaon park, Pune, yesterday. It is the same area where there was a terrorist attack on 13 February, 2010 at a popular joint called German Bakery.

Despite being a Sunday it appeared just an another road of Pune with some restaurants but lots of police bunkers on the sides. We visited "Mocha" a cafe joint but it was full. While taking a stroll in the area I asked my friend, "Why is this area so popular ?", "I see nothing nothing different here". My friend told me that the things this area was popular for have disappeared mainly due to the attack. He told me that earlier you could see a huge crowd of couples and even a lot of foreigners(due to the Osho ashram) sitting on the footpath or moving down the road. But now that has disappeared. On the funny side, the by lane besides the bakery, he told, was good area for colleges girls offering exotic services which also is empty now.

I felt sad that I missed the happening of the place and pray the place regains its crowd soon.

The core problem of India still unheard

This Indian election saw a lot on new issues like terrorism, economic instability etc. Indeed they are very important right now but there in one issue missing in the media reports and the election manifestos big parties like BJP and Congress too( i have read them) which is Population control.

We already know a lot about it from our school books. It is interesting to know that India is the first country in the world to start a population control program but sadly always failed to achieve its objectives.I was aware of it when I was in India but I realised the gravity of it when I came to France. When I see Indians selling souveniers below Eiffel Tower or selling toys in the Paris metro or selling french fries in Amsterdam. I feel how worse it has become.

I feel our national parties and media fool us by telling us that we are becoming a world power. Instead the current world leaders are forced to hear us not because we are a big power but a big problem.Yes, I feel we are becoming a world problem as society bursting in numbers with inadeqate basic resourses like education, medical services or justice.

Further what hurts me is that it is not discussed at any platform be it political or media or a general public discussion.I will come with facts and figures about Indian population in my next post but till then i request you that if you feel the same, start dicussing it with your friends, family and relatives because i feel in India we have buried this issue in the painful memories of the forced female vasectomy practices of Indra Gandhi governemt.

The sarcasm of being secular

The congress party(INC) in India always projects itself of being a secular(which i think means equality of all religions)party and also there temporary friend Left parties.Despite being a Hindu I never supported the current politics of BJP based on religion.

But after a recent experience I realized about the more dangerous non secular practices of congress party. Implementation of reservation, which is known to everyone, if looked from the lens of secularism is not justifiable at all and it is sarcastic that a party implementing reservation calls itself secular.

Consider an example: There is a group of friends who studied together, shared everything in life suddenly realize that some of their friends can get more benefits in life not because they deserved it but becuase these theings are reserved for them as they belong to some section of society.Think about the friction that will be generated in their relations because of this and the long term frustration in the society. The more serious implications will be the presence of non-competent people in important roles of the society.

In brief, I feel that the reservation policy of Congress is one step ahead of BJP.While the latter speaks of Hindus and Muslims but the former is sowing seeds to divide even the Hindus. So no one is secular either.
